What is a saree?

A sari (or saree) is a traditional garment worn primarily by women in the Indian subcontinent, particularly in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The sari is a long strip of fabric, usually measuring between 5 to 9 meters in length and approximately 1 to 1.2 meters in width.

Materials : Sarees can be made of various materials including cotton, silk, chiffon, chiffon, georgette and many more. The choice of material often depends on the occasion, climate and personal preference.

The history of the saree

The sari is a traditional female garment from the Indian subcontinent, dating back over 5,000 years. It has its origins in the Indus Valley Civilization and is mentioned in ancient texts like the Rigveda. Under the Maurya, Gupta dynasties and the Mughal Empire, sarees evolved in terms of style and sophistication. During the colonial period, they became a symbol of resistance through the Swadeshi movement. Today, sarees are both traditional and modern, with distinct regional styles like Kanjeevaram and Banarasi. They represent femininity and Indian cultural identity, while supporting millions of artisans through their production.

Returned and degraded dresses:
We take great care of each By Saaree dress. To maintain our high quality standards, please note that dresses returned with signs of damage will not be refunded.

Returned products can be tried on but must never have been worn.
